Privacy policy
Set Course collects the minimum needed to run your trip: the booking confirmations you paste in, the destination and dates derived from them, your account email (or nothing at all, if you sign in as a guest), and basic usage data about which parts of the app you open.
Pasted booking confirmations are parsed by Anthropic's Claude to extract flight numbers, times, addresses and reference codes — Claude is also what powers the in-app live translator. The original text is discarded once parsing completes. We never connect to or read your email inbox — nothing is imported automatically.
If you use the in-app Tour Guide or Live Translator, your device shares its location live to make that feature work — it is not stored beyond the session. You can also save a home address to your profile to see distance-from-home; it's cached on your own device and only reaches our servers if you choose to save your account.
You can sign in with Google or Microsoft instead of a password — this shares your name and email with us to create your account, under their own privacy policies, and nothing beyond that.
We use processors for hosting (Vercel), database and authentication (Supabase), and language processing (Anthropic). They act on our instructions only and cannot use your data for their own purposes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest; the database itself runs on EU infrastructure, while Vercel and Anthropic's own processing infrastructure is not limited to the UK or EU.
We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not share your itinerary with airlines, hotels or anyone else unless you explicitly ask us to.
Your data rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account removes everything immediately, excluding anonymised usage counts that cannot be traced back to you.
Trip data is kept for as long as your account is active, so you can look back at past journeys.
We will tell you within 72 hours if a breach affects your data, and we will tell you what happened rather than what our lawyers would prefer we said.
Terms of use
Set Course is currently an independent personal project, not a registered company, and an information tool rather than a travel agent, insurer or emergency service. We show flight status, weather, safety and health information sourced from third parties, and while we work hard to keep it current we cannot guarantee it is complete or correct at every moment.
Always check with your airline, and in an emergency call the local emergency number rather than relying on the app. Do not use the translator for medical, legal or safety-critical communication where a mistranslation could cause harm.
Set Course is designed to help you think and prepare — it surfaces information so you can make your own decisions, it does not make those decisions for you. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the owners of Set Course are not liable for any loss, damage, cost or other liability arising from actions taken, or not taken, based on information shown in the app.
Set Course is a pilot right now, and every account is free while it's in pilot. Pricing plans will follow once it's out of pilot. Accounts may be suspended for abuse, fraud, or attempts to scrape or overload the service.
